HSK Standard Course 1

HSK Standard Course 1 is a beginner-level curriculum developed jointly by Beijing Language and Culture University Press and Chinese Testing International (CTI). It is a well-structured and comprehensive textbook that integrates both learning and assessment.

Course Outline

Who Is This Course For?

• Students with no prior experience learning Chinese.

• Students who have had some early exposure to Chinese and want to build a strong foundation.

• Students who plan to take the HSK Level 1 test.

Expected Outcome

• Vocabulary: Know and be able to use around 150 basic Chinese words.

• Characters: Recognize and write simple characters corresponding to the vocabulary.

• Listening: Understand simple phrases and sentences spoken slowly and clearly.

• Speaking: Communicate in basic everyday situations, such as greetings, introducing themselves, asking simple questions, and expressing basic needs.

• Reading: Read very short and simple texts like signs, menus, or simple dialogues.

• Writing: Be able to write simple sentences using Pinyin or basic characters.

Requirement

No prerequisite. Students are encouraged to purchase the textbook on Amazon - HSK Standard Course 1 SET - Textbook +Workbook (Chinese and English Edition), and stay engaged with the course by reviewing previous lessons and previewing upcoming material.

Course Length & Tuition

The course has 15 lessons, divided into 3 stages with 5 lessons in each stage.

Each lesson is taught over 2 hours across 2 weeks, so each stage includes 10 class sessions (one hour per session). The full course takes 30 weeks to complete.

Payment Options:
